When jewellery meets craftsmanship, a creation with true meaning is born.
With this spirit in mind, KISANY partnered with Belgian jewellery brand daŭre to imagine a travel jewellery pouch, ethically designed and produced as a limited edition, embroidered and sewn in our atelier in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.
daŭre, a committed brand founded by Alix Battard and Julie de Cartier, creates ethical jewellery using lab-grown diamonds and recycled 18-carat gold. Its name, meaning “durable” in Esperanto, perfectly captures their philosophy - and ours.
Together, we discussed this collaboration to explore its inspiration, process, and impact.
Q: What inspired this collaboration?
daŭre : We have always admired KISANY’s commitment to empowering women and the beauty of their work. When they approached us, we immediately thought of a jewellery pouch that would be both chic and practical. We knew KISANY would be the perfect partner: their creations tell stories, and we wanted this pouch to be one of them.
Adélaide Pirmez, head of design at KISANY: The synergy was immediate. daŭre’s vision aligned perfectly with our philosophy. We saw the opportunity to create a unique piece: something that protects precious jewellery while supporting the women who bring it to life.
Q: Can you describe the creation process?
daŭre : We were fully aligned on designing a piece that is both elegant and functional. We wanted space for everything: rings, hoops, delicate chains, and even a statement necklace. The pouch had to be compact enough to fit in a carry-on bag, yet offer the organisation of a real jewellery box inside.
Equipped with padded compartments to prevent tangled chains and misplaced earrings, it was conceived as a refined and secure little case. Together, we imagined the ideal travel companion: practical, elegant, and durable.
Adélaide Pirmez : Once the design was finalised, we worked with our craftswomen in Goma to bring our sketches to life. They embraced this new challenge with enthusiasm: used to creating home linens, they found the design of this travel pouch both stimulating and inspiring.
