Dagmar's Garden – A collection inspired by the lush nature of Congo

Four years ago, we had the chance to visit the beautiful residence of the Belgian Embassy in Kinshasa. As we arrived, the contrast was striking: while the architecture was grand, the garden seemed to have been forgotten.

This is where Dagmar Indekeu, then Ambassador of Belgium in the Democratic Republic of Congo, took on a bold mission: to breathe new life into the abandoned garden by creating a space that pays tribute to the country's rich and tropical flora.

“I made it my ambition to transform this neglected garden and to create one that honoured the beautiful flora of this country, restoring it to its former glory,” she shared with us.

Her visionary project bloomed: today, the residence’s garden is a tropical haven full of light, water, and vibrant colour. This very place became the direct inspiration for our latest collection.

An ode to tropical flora

A collection that travels

Today, Dagmar Indekeu and her husband are Belgian ambassadors in Paris, where they continue their diplomatic mission with grace and hospitality. During their refined dinners, our embroidered napkins from the “Dagmar’s Garden” collection now grace the tables, welcoming royalty and distinguished guests alike.

This collection tells a story of transformation, passion, and homage to the beauty of Congo. It also reflects KISANY’s values: respect for craftsmanship, human connection, and the celebration of Africa’s finest.
