KISANY Living Linens made our first appearance at Homo Faber in 2024, in an event that celebrated contemporary craftsmanship.

Homo Faber 2024, held at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, provided an immersive experience that highlighted the beauty and significance of handcrafted objects from around the world. The event showcased over 800 objects created by more than 400 artisans from 70+ countries. Visitors were treated to exceptional scenography, live artisan demonstrations, and unique experiences.
In 2024 the theme, "The Journey of Life," featured the "Game of the Goose," was a collective embroidery project inspired by the historic board game. The design, conceived by Nigel Peake, was transformed into stunning embroidered pieces that were displayed throughout the event.
Our partner artisans from Rwanda infused their incredible skills and creativity into this project to create three panel embroideries in our interpretation. These three Game of the Goose panels were embroidered in our all female partner atelier in Rwanda that supports disadvantaged women in Kigali. Many of these artisans have been partnering with KISANY for over a decade. The panels are composed of a variety of needlework techniques commonly used by these women in their daily lives, and are embroidered in a range of monochrome tones representative of three values that KISANY holds dear and strives to uphold:
- Pink for Women – Empowering women with continuous dignified work opportunities,,
- Red for Independence – Creating financial autonomy through work and the independence it brings,
- Yellow for Dignity - Stitch by stitch supporting the artisans to take back the threads of their lives.
Visitors walked through the exhibition, surrounded by the intricate embroidery and stories woven into each piece—each thread a testament to the transformative power of art and craftsmanship.
This collaboration inspired many, showing how creativity can bring people together from all corners of the globe.
