Last week, we appealed to your generosity to help the families of beneficiaries of our partner non-profit organisation En Avant les Enfants in Goma, DRC 🇨🇩.  War continues to escalate in the region, increasing economic and health problems. The lack of food supplies due to closed roads is weakening the population. Thanks to your donations, En Avant les Enfants has been able to send foodstuffs to the area to help nearly 830 families in need.  Some of these families are those of our embroiderers and tailors.  Our team in Goma got together to distribute the food to those who needed it most!  💪🏿 Let's continue to support them. 20 YEARS OF EMPOWERING WOMEN ONE STITCH AT A TIME 🧵 This year, we at KISANY celebrate our milestone anniversary of 20 years. Founded as a project by three Belgian women with the aim of providing work for women in vulnerable areas of DR Congo and Rwanda, KISANY was nurtured for nearly fifteen years by the ASBL 'En avant les enfants'. The adventure began with six embroiderers and a dressmaker. Today, we have transformed into a social enterprise that has trained over 200 people in embroidery and currently provides work for 125 artisans across two ateliers. A few years ago, Ashwini Shanmuganathan, Ariane Storme and Adelaide PIRMEZ took over KISANY with the mission of transforming it into an independent social enterprise with partner workshops where it can provide access to work. Together, we remain committed to the vision of creating a world in which dignified work and education are accessible to every individual through a thriving business.
